Gov. Cuomo is not smiling in the 14 by 48 foot NYSUT billboard on Interstate 787 south near downtown Albany.
That’s because the headline reads: “You talk about teachers. Try listening to them.”
Another version of the digital billboard with the governor’s image reads: “What are you afraid of? Come to our schools.”
These are the latest incarnations of messages aimed at informing the public – and elected officials who work in the Capitol – that the union is turning up the heat on a governor who has declared war on public education.
The billboard went up earlier this week.
Three more billboards will soon be posted on I-787 and I- 90 featuring a teacher with students in a classroom and the headline: “Stand up for what All Kids Need,” a nod to the union’songoing social media campaign calling for fair funding and challenging the governor’s corporate education agenda.
